We Contact Your Insurer

Our billing team contacts Medicare, MassHealth, or your private insurance plan to verify your specific benefits.

3

We Explain What’s Covered

We walk you through exactly what is covered, what is not, and what — if anything — you might owe out of pocket.

Care Begins

Once coverage is confirmed, we schedule your first nurse visit — often within 24–48 hours.

Common Questions

Coverage FAQs

Yes, in most cases. If you meet Medicare’s home health eligibility criteria, skilled nursing, therapy, and home health aide services are covered at no cost to you — no deductible, no copay. The key requirements are that you are homebound, have a skilled care need, and have a doctor’s order. Call us and we’ll help determine if you qualify.

Both Medicare Part A and Part B cover home health services. Part A typically applies after a hospital stay (3+ days). Part B applies in other situations. In both cases, qualifying home health services are covered at no cost. We handle the billing and determine which part applies to your situation.

MassHealth covers a broad range of home health services including skilled nursing, personal care, and case management, though the specific services covered may differ from Medicare. Many patients are eligible for both Medicare and MassHealth (called dual eligibility), which often results in very low or zero out-of-pocket costs.

We offer private pay options for any services not covered by your insurance. Our team will clearly explain what is and is not covered before care begins so there are no surprises. We work with families to find arrangements that meet their needs and budget.

For Medicare and Medicaid-covered services, a doctor’s order is required. However, you do not need to have this in hand before calling us — our care coordination team can work with your physician to obtain the necessary order. For private pay services, no referral is needed.

In most cases we can verify benefits within a few hours of receiving a referral. For urgent situations (such as a same-day hospital discharge), we work as quickly as possible and can often begin care before full verification is complete for known Medicare and MassHealth cases. Call 617-846-7676 for urgent needs.
